Cast Iron Pineapple Upside Down Cake

1 can sliced pineapple
1 box yellow or pineapple cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Maraschino cherries

Drain pineapple, reserve liquid.
Place cast iron skillet on medium heat.
Add brown sugar and butter to skillet. Cook until hot and bubbly. Remove from heat.
Arrange pineapple slices and cherries on top of butter and sugar mixture. CAREFULLY IT’S HOT
In separate bowl, combine cake mix, pineapple juice, eggs, and oil. Mix well.
Pour cake mixture over pineapples.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto cake plate.
